Jim McCutcheon, Host of The Intimate Guitar (Saturdays @ 6pm & Sundays @ 9am)

Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA until age 11; the last 50 years I've lived in Dayton

What I do: As much as possible with the guitar...Own and operate McCutcheon Music (25 years) with my wife, Debbie; teach guitar at UD Wright State and Miami as well as at McCutcheon Music; direct concert series at the Dayton Art Institute; longtime president of the Dayton Classical Guitar Society

What you may not know about me:

  1. My first professional instrument was the flute
  2. I received my first degree in physics from the University of Dayton
  3. I had a radio program ("Strictly Guitar") on WYSO in the 1980s
  4. I host the longest-running locally-produced program ("The Intimate Guitar") on Dayton Public Radio
  5. I hold an amateur radio Extra Class license


One thing you may know about me: I am known to youngsters as "The Guitar Man" and regularly visit schools and preschools with a van load of fretted instruments - guitars, mandolin, banjo, lute, charango, ukulele, etc.
