Dayton Public Radio/Discover Classical 88.1, 89.1 & 89.9FM is seeking a motivated candidate to be a summer intern. Reporting to the Development Director and working closely with the staff, the intern candidate will be exposed to the various aspects of a public radio station. The intern will assist the department in member communications and analysis in service to our listeners. Discover Classical’s Membership & Development Department is the connection between the station and our audience and strives to strengthen members’ passion for public radio and classical music. In addition to office duties serving our members there will also be opportunities to produce radio content such as promotions or Public Service Announcements (PSA).
The ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for classical music, enjoys working with people, and has excellent analytical skills. We welcome candidates who are collaborative, detail oriented and life-long learners. This is a rare opportunity to join the team operating one of the few non-commercial, full-time classical music stations in the country. The internship will run 6 weeks and is a paid position for 20-25 hours per week. The internship stipend is $2500 total. If a candidate lives outside of our area housing is available within walking distance thanks to a partnership with the Human Race Theater Company.

Additional Desired Qualifications
This is not a remote/hybrid position. This is a part-time position (about 20-25hours/week) that requires interaction with Discover Classical staff and our members. If housing is needed the 6-week internship timeframe would need to be between June 18 – August 3, 2025. If housing is not needed, the 6-week internship can be selected between May 17-Aug, 15, 2025. If academic credit is needed, the station will work with the student to ensure those requirements are met, but it is up to the student to initiate that process.
